Students from Kenyon College and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University came together to help us manage the rehab of former Glass Gardens Nursery and Greenhouse.
The spent a day working on various projects that support our programs.
Projects included:
Deep mulching the community garden and children's play garden plots
Collecting the compostable waste from the Happy Bean coffee shop.
Harvesting potatoes and preparing the potato patch for winter
Insulating our row covered growing benches with straw bales for growing season extension
Sorting and saving seeds for our seed bank & library
Planting a garlic garden bed
Preparing our Edible Knox garden bed for winter
